Sitting on a bench near the end of the day the other day, took this HDR photo of the Stone House at the Bear Creek Green Belt. We had been under a “wave effect” cloud pretty much all day, which you can see at the top of the photo. The sun was just setting, lighting the scene from the horizon under the stationary cloud front.

On the way to South Park. Taken somewhere along CO Rt 9 between Canon City and Hartsel in August of 2014. It was an unusually wet summer for this area that year.

Was home sick from work today otherwise would have been stuck inside unable to appreciate this. Sleeping late was woken by a text message from my mother that said: "Sunrise alert! May be the picture of the day!" How right she was.

Tried processing this several ways and while I’m not super happy with the end result I think its not too bad. Initially I really wanted to see the misty foggy look of the far side of the lake, but all my attempts did not come out well. In future I guess I’ll have to try using a tripod and try to shield the lens from falling snow better as the speckling caused by the falling snow and melting snow on the lens really played havoc with this digitally stitched panorama. Ended up going the other way; with this high contrast, dark, sharp & desaturated version which I think came out pretty cool and managed to capture the downright chilly landscape.

Today spent working (it’s my ‘friday’) and processing a bunch of photos I took yesterday while watching football playoffs. So no time to take new pics so today’s 365 photo is a shot of football on my TV thrown into Photoshop and distorted with a spherize filter.
PS: Denver Broncos were about to score. Yay!
Took a 2 mile hike in South Valley Park with my camera at the end of a breezy but warm winter day. Some of my favorite shots in a long while resulted. Here’s some of the best. View Photo Album
011:365:2014 South Valley Fountain Formation Lit By Sunset
The cliffs of the fountain rock formations at South Valley Park reflect the light of the setting sun.
Went through a after-work stroll through Bear Creek and took my camera. Managed to capture some half-decent photos, a number of a bunch of interesting birds, including: a common goldeneye duck, a female belted kingfisher, an american coot, and a hooded merganser. Oh, and a couple of bunny rabbits too.
