A simple writing exercise that took on a life all it’s own. Fire seems to be a recurring theme for me right now..

HER FIRE by Jeffrey Beaty

Her smile
A spark that catches tinder
Then ignites with her laugh

Her eyes
They glow and sparkle
To cloud with cautious smoke

Her heart
Pulsing with heat unquenched
Despite life's ash and soot

Her touch
So rare that warm embrace
So precious that it burns
