A poem inspired by a very late night to early morning drive along the front range between Colorado Springs and Denver, accompanied by a beautiful full moon.
THERE'S A FULL MOON OVER THE HIGHWAY by Jeffrey Beaty
There's a full Moon over the highway tonight,
Riding shotgun out my window.
There are mountains like clouds floating slowly by,
While side by side go the Moon and I.
A long freight train jousts in the dark,
It's lance full of moonlight spark.
As my tires they hum
As the wind blows cool
As the Moon watches over
This here fool.
